Specific duties include but are not limited to

The Manufacturing Operational Excellence Manager will lead continuous improvement initiatives while being responsible for the effective implementation and management of lean tools, systems and principles. This leader will leverage proactive problem-solving efforts to improve processes and SQDC metrics. This role is responsible for identifying and improving the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies, Quality, safety and customer satisfaction, reducing cost and inventory investments.  In addition, the Manager role will find and implement ways to eliminate waste in processes by increasing productivity, maximizing efficiency, and managing human capital more effectively.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead production management including manufacturing and test engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and cultural change. Ensure hiring and development of top talent
  • Integrate key elements of Supply Chain to improve linearity and predictability of core processes
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to make operations more efficient and reduce the 8 Wastes of Lean
  • Maximize improvement and cost savings by proactively identifying areas for improvement, leading lean initiatives and projects, utilizing lean tools and techniques, analyzing and reporting key metrics, communicating continuous improvement activities and training team members to accomplish the same
  • Operational/Financial responsibilities include: manage inventories to achieve cash flow goals, responsibility for developing and executing the POR (Plan of Record) and direct responsibility for departmental spend and budget management
  • Lead root cause analysis, evaluating production metrics and trends, improving material flow, creating project plans, creating and improving process documentation
  • Carry out advanced data collection and analysis, developing budgets, and performing cost analysis to determine project feasibility
  • Lead projects to achieve business, quality, and compliance objectives
  • Troubleshooting and resolving moderately complex process issues

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Management
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience at a Tier 1/2 EMS or OEM of infrastructure products and transformation from low volume single piece flow to higher volume progressive build.
  • Knowledge of Lean tools (SMED, VSM, 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, KPIs, JIT, etc.), systems, and principles preferred. Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification preferred
  • Proven track record of developing and meeting financial goals; ability to calculate and communicate ROI’s.
  • Ability to effectively select, develop, coach, empower and motivate a staff to ensure growth in their scope of responsibility and accountability for operational excellence
  • Demonstrate a focus on Continuous Improvement, and promote that culture
  • Performance mindset with a passion to improve people, process, and tools
  • Capability to quickly establish credibility, influencing individuals at all levels.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to form collaborative teams, excellent communication skills (both verbal & written), teamwork, analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor others on Lean and Six Sigma
  • Ability to analyze and manipulate facility/production layouts utilizing CAD is preferred
