Specific duties include but are not limited to

Description:

 The Material Handler is responsible for the performing the physical and administrative tasks involved in the storing and distributing of material and parts.   Ensure all activity is accurately recorded within PeopleSoft. Candidate must be able to conduct work in a professional, safe, and hazard free manner while ensuring a high level of quality control and adhering to material handling precautions for damage/loss prevention.  Housekeeping and warehouse cleanliness are a priority.

Primary Duties: 

  • Move and store materials to the proper stockroom location.
  • Perform cycle counting on a daily basis, including counts of parts stored on the manufacturing floor to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Perform zone counts as necessary.
  • Accurately pick parts for manufacturing orders, customer orders and material routing tickets.
  • Build customer kits accurately
  • Perform inventory updates in PeopleSoft for receipts, issues, transfers and adjustments.
  • Maintains housekeeping and safe operating conditions

Qualifications

Qualifications:  

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Overtime maybe required, including working on Saturdays
  • 2 years Microsoft Office knowledge and Excel skills
  • Demonstrated past work showing ability to multitask and prioritize work in order to successfully accomplish job duties
  • Past experience showing attention to detail when performing daily goals and objectives and for verification activities
  • Ability to ensure that orders are properly tagged, scanned, and stored in their proper location
  • Ability to lift heavy items (40 lbs. on a regular basis) and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb ladders on a regular basis
  • ERP experience (PeopleSoft preferred)

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • 1-3 years prior warehouse experience
  • 2 years experience in use of inventory management system to perform inventory transactions, inventory reporting, inventory reconciliation/ investigations
  • Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements
