    Specific duties include but are not limited to

     

    The Electrical Engineering position responsible for performing hardware/software design, development, and test of real-time embedded telecommunications systems. This position requires a self-starter who initiates designs that meet or exceeds specifications. Position requires an effective communicator who interacts with a variety of disciplines and departments such as software engineering, engineering management, sales, component vendors, and outside contract manufacturers. In addition this role will design, debug, implement automated processes, procedures that optimize manufacturing productivity and efficiency while minimizing downtime.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Lead manufacturing engineering effort in conjunction with outside contract manufacturing organization to proactively drive continuous improvement
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to make manufacturing operations more efficient
    • Design, develop, and debug software based automated manufacturing test processes
    • Troubleshooting and debug of complex, real-time, microprocessor based, telecommunication systems

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design including A/D and D/A converters, power supplies, telecom interfaces, and embedded microprocessor design
    • Understanding of telecommunication protocols such as IP, Ethernet, USB, datacom (RS-232, GPIB, etc.), and telephony
    • Understanding of digital radio frequency communications
    • Programming in C, C++, or Visual BASIC
    • Ability to use electronic measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, audio analyzers, datacom testers, and microprocessor emulators
    • Ability to effectively utilize CAD tools such as schematic capture, PCB design, and simulators
    • Ability to effectively work within a collaborative team, excellent communication skills (both verbal & written), teamwork, analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
    • Performance mindset with a passion to improve products, processes, and tools
    • Experience in FPGA design and development using HDL language such as VHDL or Verilog is desirable
